Digital Life Certificate for NRI Pensioners Living Abroad

There are several lacs/crores of Non-Resident Indians - who are living abroad after their superannuation to live a Comfortable Life after Retirement.

In the month of November 2021 all the retirees, who are receiving a pension, from the State Government, Central Government of India, Banks, had to compulsorily visit their respective Banks to submit their Life Certificate to the Pension Disbursing Officer to prove that they were alive. It will be a very costly affair to visit India in these Covid Pandemic conditions. The Modi Government has facilitated the online submission of DIGITAL LIFE CERTIFICATE even if you are hospitalized, staying at a distant place from the place of your Pension Disbursing Office or if you are a Non-Resident Indian, living abroad after their superannuation.

State Bank of India (SBI) has launched Video Life Certificate (VLC) facility for pensioners. The bank said in a statement that this facility has been introduced with the aim of providing a seamless life certificate submission experience to lakhs of pensioners (other than family pensioners).                                                                  

SBI Video Life Certificate Submission Process

Pensioners can log on to Pensionseva by SBI and enter their SBI Pension Account Number by clicking on Video LC. They have to submit the OTP received on their registered mobile numbers. Once they have read the terms and conditions, they can click on ‘Start Journey’. Pensioners will have to keep their original PAN card, click on ‘I am ready, and give permission to initiate the video call.
